The eagle daddy was sitting on a rock for 2 months. But then something happened
An interesting story happened in one of the US bird sanctuaries. An eagle named Murphy is a well-known figure in these parts. He is friendly to people and likes to pose for the cameras.
But soon Murphy disappeared. The sanctuary staff became worried and went looking for him. However, they didn’t have to search for long. The eagle didn’t fly away: he made a nest and started sitting on the eggs… And then the question arises – what exactly? After all, there was no female nearby!
When Murphy went for food, one of the staff looked into the nest and found a small round rock there. Obeying his instincts, the eagle decided to sit on the rock instead of the egg.
It is worth noting that in nature, bald eagles share the responsibilities of sitting on eggs equally. So the fact that the male sits on the eggs is quite normal.
Murphy patiently sat on the rock for about 2 months, but, of course, to no avail. And then one day, a wounded eaglet was found in a nearby reserve, just hatched from an egg. It could have fallen out of the nest or been thrown out by its parents, which sometimes happens in the wild.
The reserve staff contacted each other and agreed to hand over the chick to try to put it in Murphy’s nest.
And then one day, when Murphy went hunting, the chick was put in his nest. Upon returning, Murphy was clearly puzzled. However, he soon became the most caring father in the world.
This is a story about kindness and mutual assistance.
