“I have pigmentation on my face that won’t go away. How can I get rid of it?”
Cosmetologist’s answer:
Based on your description, I can assume that you have melasma – a chronic recurring condition in which the skin color changes due to improper functioning of dermal melanocytes, which are responsible for the production of the pigment melanin.
Melasma can appear for several reasons:
Hormonal changes (pregnancy, breastfeeding, taking oral contraceptives);
Genetic predisposition;
Presence of trauma at the site of pigmentation;
Excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation (even if you are currently using SPF, everything that you “sunburned” earlier in the solarium will manifest itself as pigmentation).
Melasma cannot be cured once and for all, but the severity of the pigment can be significantly reduced.
Phototherapy M22
Phototherapy is a method of correcting various skin imperfections using broadband pulsed light IPI. Light, penetrating into the deep layers of the skin, destroys pigment cells and stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. It also helps to destroy damaged blood vessels, so the procedure can be performed for vascular changes on the face.
Phototherapy is also effective for other skin problems: acne, rosacea, scars and scars, post-acne.
Biorevitalization
Another procedure that will help solve the problem of dark spots on the face is biorevitalization. This is an invasive cosmetic procedure in which drugs with components that have a beneficial effect on the epidermis are injected under the skin. For each patient, the drug is selected individually depending on the existing problem. In the case of pigmentation on the face, I recommend doing biorevitalization with whitening peptides that suppress the synthesis of melanin in skin cells.
Tranexamic acid
Tranexamic acid belongs to the group of carboxylic acids, and it is used in drugs aimed at stopping bleeding, for example, during surgery. In cosmetology, it has gained trust due to its beneficial property – to slow down the synthesis of enzymes that promote the production of melanin. Tranexamic acid whitens the skin and is used not only in skin care cosmetics, but also in the composition of mesococtail injections. Tranexamic acid can also be taken orally. Its effectiveness in the treatment of melasma has been scientifically proven. However, the dosage of the drug and the duration of its use are strictly determined by your dermatovenerologist, cosmetologist. It is not recommended to take it on your own.
