The new Chery Tiggo 7 Sport will look like a Land Rover
Chery is preparing to launch a new crossover called the Tiggo 7 Sport on the Chinese market. Such cars have already begun to arrive at dealers. Sales are scheduled to start in September.
Despite the familiar numerical index, the new product, which looks like some Land Rover models, has little to do with other representatives of the Tiggo 7 line. In fact, the “Sport” is a derivative of the Chery Explore 06 crossover, known outside of China as the Jaecoo J7. As Car News China notes with reference to the database of the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Trade, a similar design of the front part may be offered for the Explore 06 as an option. At the same time, the Tiggo 7 Sport will be positioned as a sportier model, more intended for urban use than off-road driving.
The interior of the new “seven” with separate instrument and multimedia displays has been transferred from the Explore 06 without noticeable changes. There is no information about the engines, but judging by the nameplate on the stern, the Tiggo 7 Sport will be all-wheel drive.
