Rolls-Royce has unveiled the result of another experiment in unique personalization — the Spectre electric coupe with its own name Semaphore. Its main differences are the design in various shades of yellow and a special pattern on the hood, which took 160 hours to paint.
Semaphore was designed for a customer from the USA, so it is claimed that the design of the front part is inspired by the casual elegance of the Californian coast. The pattern itself most closely resembles spilled paint, but according to the creators, it should look like a slice of marble. It took 160 hours to come up with and apply this pattern: in addition to special paint, it is covered with many layers of special varnish.
The bright yellow body of the electric car, which should be associated with the Californian sun, is decorated with black accents. A similar palette is used in the interior, but the Spectre interior trim uses additional shades of yellow and gray, and the front panel is decorated with wooden inserts covered with varnish with the addition of silver flakes – they should provide a unique shimmer.
No changes were made to the coupe’s power plant. Rolls-Royce Spectre is equipped with 585 hp and 895 Nm engines and a 120-kilowatt battery. The power reserve is 520 kilometers. Semaphore will be shown live at the August exhibition in the American Pebble Beach, the premiere location is immortalized with special door sills.
An additional task of the unique electric car is to show the readiness of Rolls-Royce, previously considered very conservative, to unusual experiments. The cost of the special project is not reported.
