Your real life will begin when you understand these 5 things

Studies in the field of existential psychology have shown that the relevance of the question about the meaning of life usually arises in adulthood. But the sooner a person finds answers for himself, the brighter and richer his life will be and the fewer regrets there will be later.

Psychologist Sofia Mozzherina named 5 things that people often understand about life too late.

We will all die one day
It is no secret that life has a certain duration, individual for each person. However, due to age and ideological characteristics, people tend not to think that life has an end. This may sound obvious, but many of us are born without realizing our death until it becomes inevitable.

In many large modern cities, cemeteries are located far from the city, hidden from view. But if you look at small old cities, cemeteries are located in plain sight, in many European cities cemeteries are city parks. Our ancestors passed them every day, and this served as a certain stimulus for reflection. And also a reminder that life is finite, which means we need to gratefully appreciate what we have today.

We can manage our thoughts and emotions
We do not always realize that our thoughts and emotions react to interactions with the outside world. Reaction is a temporary phenomenon, it passes. How we interpret it is much more important.

In other words, there are always events around us, but how to relate to them is determined by each person for himself. A person is given the ability to manage his internal resources so that he can live our lives more effectively. Unfortunately, there is no such subject in the school curriculum as “How to manage your internal resources”, and this skill needs to be trained. Most of us grew up in a culture where the internal state is ignored. This leads to the fact that a person is aware of himself as a function, through what he does, without asking the question “From what state am I doing this”.

The result of such an uncontrollable state can be depression, emotional burnout and apathy. To prevent this from happening, ask yourself questions: “What state am I in? How do I feel? Is what I do important to me?”
